Tree-cutting

Before I even start this post, I’m going to say that I am not a tree-hugger. I just happened to like the privacy and (for lack of better words) beautifulness of the ten Firs and one White Pine lining our driveway. So for those of you that like to tease me, don’t even start:P

Remember these babies?

Well, one by one, they were, and I quote, “destroyed maliciously”. I was conveniently at work while the destruction was taking place, so I didn’t have to watch…much. However, I was forced to watch the very last one, which happened to be the largest, and it was quite a sight falling like it did.

I now have nothing to shelter me when I’m running out to the van in my PJ’s in the morning:) Only two large stumps which my dad is planning on turning into a rather awesome zip line, I guess that’s one bonus:)

Piles of wood and brush lay everywhere, in the picture above you can see what remains of our tree house, it kinda came down, too…

I have to hand it to them, the guys worked incredibly hard, rain or shine, to get these trees down and chopped. Everything was done in less than a week!

Sorry the pictures are a little fuzzy, Windows Live Writer is being kind of a pain, it won’t keep my picture quality when I’m enlarging the pictures and the water mark won’t stay small. I guess you will just have to be happy that you got any pictures:P
